The Fresh and Onlys - Summer of Love
Fresh and Onlys
Tim Cohen | Shayde Sartin | Wymond Miles | Kyle Gibson

It's summertime!! So I here's the first pick of my summer podcast. This is from their album Play It Strange on In the Red. These guys also did a split 7-inch with Golden Triangle who I LOVE and have played before. They are San Franciso based.

Gob - Soda
Gob
Tom - vox/guitar Theo - vox/guitar Jamie - bass Patrick drums

This was Gob's "big" hit when I was a teenager. From their debut album "Too Late... No Friends" on local hero's Mint Records. They were probably one of the first punk bands I ever saw. From the Vancouver suburb of Langley, BC.Everytime it's hot I sing this song. It's true! While looking up photos of Gob I came across this old music video for their song "You're Too Cool" and I remember I was actually at the show where they filmed the last sequences of the song. Too bad you can't see me. Haha.

Ian Manhire - vox/guitar Luke Martin - bass/vox Allie Hanlon - drums

Saw these Ottawa punk rockers at the second ever gig at Parts and Labour opening for Golden Triangle. This is from their album, WWII out on strong hold Dirtnap Records.

Pissed Jeans - False Jesii Part 2
Pissed Jeans
Bradley Fry | Randy Huth | Matt Kosloff | Sean McGuinness

From Allentown, Pennisylvania. Love these hardcore boys. Such a good name for a band. I once pissed my jeans when I was 14. Long story, it was also the night I realised I was allergic to beer. Oops.

Balaclavas - Vuitton
Balaclavas
Chaz Patranella | Tyler Morris | Brian Harrison | Ralf Armin

Playing with Rock Over London's favourites, Iceage, on July 15th in their hometown of Houston.

Trust - Candy Walls
Trust
Maya Postepski | Robert Alfons

Mark Pesci's recommendation. This is their first release, a 7-inch on Sacred Bones. Maya is pretty busy touring around being the drummer in Austra. I'd love to see Trust though. There's a music video for this song where they drive out to the wilderness, it's really beautiful.

Gymslips - Don't Lead Me On
The Gymslips

I finally found this! I've been searching for any music by the Gymslips for YEARS. Not in itunes, not in Spotify and to find an out of print album from the 80s. Good luck! This song is taken from "Rockin with the Renees" which I think features most of the Gymslips music. They were an all girl post-punk new wavey band from England in the early 80s.
